Summary: At first, it may seem like your typical "people go crazy in the woods" story. But you are SOOOOOO wrong. The true culprit of the absolute carnage that goes down here is ten times more unsettling. And even if it weren't factored into the story, we'd still have a very grim experience where savagery lives.

History: Somewhere in the forests of the Outback, there are strange symbols pointing to an unknown entity that may or may not be the last thing anyone wants to encounter. As it turns out, it's very much that. And it all starts when some friends head there and one gets attacked by leech-like animals. She comes back ill, teeth falling out, and spewing blood. By the time she recovers, she's become a feral beast out for flesh. As it turns out, she and any other infected serve a giant worm-like monster that wishes to mate with humans and spread its brood. Not exactly how anyone wants to die.

Notable Kills: Nothing special.

Final Fate: The survivors encounter the worm in its cave, and one manages to hack it apart after its had its way. Soon after, the last human mutant is killed via head bash with a rock.

Powers/Abilities: Can impregnate people with its spawn, which in return can bite and infect people with a mutation that turns them into sharp-toothed cannibals.

Weakness: Anything conventional.

Scariness Factor: 4-Oh sure, the CGI for the big worm isn't the greatest at all, but Heavens above, the THINGS it and its brethren do to people! Aside from being a rape-happy gelatinous mass of pure nauseating vice, the people it turns are perhaps scarier than it due to their sheer bloodlust. Overall, this might be the worst monster from Australia. Yeah, worse than a killer boar. In concept, at least.

Trivia: -This film was directed by Josh Reed, who seemed to want to back away from such violent stories by doing a couple obscure comedy series.

-Although there are plenty of arthropods that do unspeakable things to other creatures for the sake of their young (tarantula hawks and cockroach wasps come to mind), there are no species of worm that do anything like it. That is, unless you count parasitic worms. In that case, there are so many to pick from.
